Wednesday was the perfect night for a garden party, and June LaCombe's Hawk Ridge Farm proved the ultimate venue. More than 200 guests turned out for the full moon opening of "Between Earth and Sky," June's summer show of sculpture featuring more than 100 pieces from 30 artists.

Another prom season has come and gone, but the glamorous memories live on in the snapshots. For the second year, we present you with a collection of photos (233) featuring Maine students from 35 different schools sporting the season's hottest styles. While a handful of fashion-forward guys went with white, this year the black tuxedo again proved to be the favorite, with colorful vests and neckties the preferred accompaniments. By a small margin, girls favored long gowns, often with plunging necklines, cut-away waists and rhinestone embellishments. However, short hemlines appeared more often than in years past. Printed gowns made an even bigger showing than they did last year and bright, bold jewel tones continued to be the colors of choice.

More than 20 acts will grace local stages, including Anthony Bourdain, "Mamma Mia," "Spamalot," "South Pacific," the Alvin Ailey dance troupe and the Handel & Haydn Society.
