Wedensday evening there will be a panel discusion on the election of Abraham Lincoln and its long lasting consequences at Colby College as part of the 150 year mark of the Civil War. The event is sponsored by the Goldfarb Center for Public Affairs and Civic Engagement, the Colby College History Department, and the Maine State Archives.

SUBMARINER: Ludolph Webber, 90, served on a submarine in the Pacific during World War II.  Webber, who lives in Sidney with his 92-year-old girlfriend, was aboard the Argonaut 50 miles off the coast of Nagasaki, Japan, when an atomic bomb was dropped in 1945.
