Tuesday, September 27, 2011...St. Joseph's College held it's Sustainability Festival and Eat Local Lunch on the school's quad.   Wayne Gordon puts locally produced  burgers on the grill as part of the Eat Local Lunch.  Gordon works for Bon Appetit, the school's food service provider.

Tuesday, September 27, 2011...St. Joseph's College held it's Sustainability Festival and Eat Local Lunch on the school's quad. The festival's food tent provided visitors with a large selection of locally grown vegetables, meats, and produce, including many grown at the college itself, as well as from nearby farms.

Tuesday, September 27, 2011...St. Joseph's College held it's Sustainability Festival and Eat Local Lunch on the school's quad.  Melinda Blais lets students from Windham Middle School pet some of the animals provided by Pearson's Town Farm, an organic farm committed to community education and the promotion of sustainability at St. Joe's College in Standish.

Sue Keene considers herself a book recycler and runs her business, The Book Mark, on Rte. 202 in Windham.  Keene was one of the environmentally-friendly vendors and nonprofits showcasing their products at the Festival.

Sister Jackie Moreau is one of the producers of a newsletter called The Maine Green Page, which has a focus on the earth and her needs.  Moreau was one of the vendors at the Sustainability Festival.
