Thursday, July 19, 2012...Women earn 22 percent less than men in Maine for full time work, and the gap exists in virtually every occupation, according to the latest workforce data. ItÕs true in the food preparation and service industry, and Krista Kern Desjarlais (foreground) doesnÕt need numbers to prove it. In 30 years in the business, she has seen the disparity in pay first hand and she she is careful to pay her help Š men and women Š the same wage.
