Locker rooms and ice are refurbished as well as other systems and areas to get ready for the new season.

Gordon Chibroski / Staff Photographer: On Friday, August 31, 2012 the Portland Ice Arena is almost finished with its refurbishing of the interior, including the new ice with logos painted on the floor and about a half inch of ice layed over it. Through the weekend the ice will continue to be built up an eighth of an inch at a time by the Zamboni until the correct thickness is achieved.
