ON THE RISE: Pastor Paul Press, third from left, walks parishioners through the new Thorndike Congregational Church on Sunday. The former church was destroyed by fire last December. The new church, being built by local workers, will have a sanctuary, Sunday school, office, dining room and kitchen. Deaconess Patti Banker said the congregation is very excited to be back in their church. Hopefully it will be finished for Easter service, Banker said. Sunday services continue at the town office.
